Diarrhea Causes
(According To The Wisdom Of Oriental Medicine)
Oriental medicine has clearly defined the diarrhea causes involved in acute and chronic diarrhea. Thousands of years of observation in the Orient shows that your diarrhea, in all its various forms and by it's other names (ex. Irritable Bowel Syndrome) almost certainly comes from: - Improper diet
- Emotional stress
- Overwork, too much exercise or chronic illness
- Too much sex
- Over exposure to excess cold, dampness or heat (like the time you got sick from too much sun at the beach)
Here's a bit more info on each of those diarrhea causes... Improper DietAcute diarrhea is often caused by eating: - Spoiled foods
- Very hot, spicy foods
- Very cold foods or drinks
Chronic diarrhea is often caused by eating: - Too much food (over-eating)
- Excess sweet foods
- Excess greasy and oily foods
- Excess cold foods and drinks (or "cold natured," meaning they have the effect of cold foods, not cold in temperature)
Generally, these affect your body's processing of foods and fluids, leading to too much fluid going out with the stools. Emotional StressExcess emotions easily damage your body's ability to process food and fluid, leading to diarrhea. In particular... - Worry / Over thinking / Pensiveness
- Anger
... are the most damaging to your elimination. Most people who come to my clinic with diarrhea are both worriers and eat the wrong foods I outlined above. Overwork or Too Much Exercise Chronic Illness Excess SexAll of these drain energy from your internal organs, in particular, your digestive / elimination organs. This leaves these organs in a weakened state... ... too weak to do their job properly. So, foods and fluids aren't processed properly, leading to diarrhea. Over-exposure To Cold, Damp Or HeatWhen things are cooled, they slow down (like putting liquid in the freezer). When things are heated, they speed up (like putting liquid in the stove). When things are over saturated with liquid (damp), they become sluggish. Similarly, when you (and your digestive organs) are over exposed to excesses of cold, heat and damp, it can have short and long term negative effects on your internal organs. One of the outcomes can be diarrhea.
