One day, while at school, one of my TCM teachers saw me eating a raw carrot. He was horrified; in China they do not eat raw vegetables the way we do here. He told me to stop eating the raw carrot. He said I was hurting my health. What? Raw vegetables are supposed to be good for us, right?

I started to explain my health issues to him, and he gave me just a few pointers and tips about the Chinese approach to diet. I made these simple changes, and within weeks I noticed a transformation...

...I felt better, more energetic, and my other health issues had faded away. I felt better than I had in years. These small differences in the way I was eating made a big change in my life!

And what I have noticed since then is that every single time I stray from this diet, I start feeling bad again. Every single time.

One of the things I learned was that our digestion is primary to our health. It doesn't matter what the ailment is, our digestion plays a role in the wellbeing of our bodies.

This includes everything from stomach issues to sinus & allergies to aches and pains. Ailments that you may think have nothing to do with what you eat are in fact affected by your digestion.

In Chinese Medicine, they have a saying that loosely translates to "above all else, protect the digestion."

Like I said, I thought I was eating very well. But I was actually harming my digestion, and as a result, I not only had stomach problems, I had bad allergies and sinus problems.
