Natural Cough Remedies

Do you have a chronic cough … and nothing has helped?

If so, consider the natural cough remedies and techniques used in my clinic. They are based on Oriental medicine, and they work …when nothing else has.

Nearly everyone who comes to my clinic with chronic cough has already tried expectorants, cough suppressants, sometimes antibiotics and everything else conventional medicine has to offer.

None of it worked… that's why they come to me.

The overwhelming majority have good results from the treatment I've offered, even though nothing else helped.

Why this treatment works... when conventional medicine won't.

Conventional medicine usually sees the cough as a symptom of another disease, like bronchitis or pneumonia. It will then strive to "rid" you of the disease, if possible, or just control the cough.

But, Oriental medicine sees that disease as a symptom, not the cause of your health problems.

It understands that the cause is the lack of internal stability (a.k.a. "homeostasis") that allows you to have that disease in the first place.

And, it understands that the only thing that heals your body… is your body.

So, we use the most effective methods known to trigger and strengthen your body's natural healing mechanisms.

You regain internal stability, your immunity is stronger and disease can't thrive.

The cough goes away. This can happen whether your cough is dry, productive, tickling or seen as a symptom of another disease.

What causes cough?

Your cough can be due to:

  • Cold or flu that's not resolved properly at the early stages.
  • Emotional stress, especially worry, anger, frustration or resentment.
  • Worry, in particular, leads to the dry, irritating type of cough.
  • Diet - particularly foods that cause phlegm production.
  • Long term sickness that ultimately weakens your lung functioning.

These lead to a number of distinct "imbalances" in your body. In Oriental medicine, these patterns are described by such as "blockage of lungs by phlegm" (a cough with phlegm) or "too little fluid with dryness of the lung" (a dry cough).

What natural cough remedies can I try at home?

Oriental medicine uses several natural cough remedies that restore your body's self-healing mechanisms. These include acupressure (or acupuncture), diet, herbs, exercises, lifestyle modifications and an effective but under-used technique called Chinese cupping.

Since there are various types of cough, and due to the limitations of a website, I can only give you some general treatment recommendations here. Important - Do not underestimate these techniques just because they seem simple. Oriental medicine can be deceptively simple. Remember - I use these on patients all the time and they work.

Let's start with:

Herbal Remedies For Cough

Oriental medicine has very effective herbal natural cough remedies that work astonishingly well - even when antibiotics and other cough medications don't.

The correct remedy is determined by the type of cough and other associated symptoms. For example, there's different remedies for a barking cough, a weak cough, a cough with yellow phlegm and a cough with white phlegm.

Acupressure (can be very effective.)

The appropriate acupressure points depend on the "pattern" of cough you have.

Unfortunately, I can't explain that in-depth on a website. But, you can still try these and you may be very surprised by their effectiveness in time.

Apply medium pressure (never painful), for a minimum 60 seconds / 3 X day, with your finger, thumb or knuckle to:

Pt 1 - in the crease of your elbow, just lateral (towards the thumb side) to the big tendon in the center of the crease.

Pt 2 - approx. 1.5 inches up from your wrist crease, on the thumb side of your arm

Diet - since the wrong foods can cause your cough, it's obvious you need to eat appropriately to stop causing your problem. Start by avoiding:

  • Sweets
  • Dairy
  • Greasy Foods
  • Alcohol
  • Spicy hot foods

This is only a small (but effective) part of the natural cough remedies I use with my patients.

I've got plenty more effective methods to treat you with, as well as an instructional program similar to the one I use in my clinic, that you can use at home.
